Should we compile a list of the most friendly looking birds, I’m afraid the Tawny Owls would not be in the top ten. On the contrary, most of the time they look rather angry. I may be because of the fact that no bird likes being disturbed while it’s trying to sleep. And whether it’s people walking their dog, cyclists, care takers or photographers: every movement in the surroundings is checked upon. You wonder why some of them decided to live in the city. The result is an angry look most of the time 😉

Als we een lijstje zouden maken met de vriendelijkst-ogende vogels, dan ben ik bang dat de Bosuil daar niet erg hoog op zal scoren. In tegendeel, het grootste deel van de tijd kijken ze eigenlijk straalchagrijnig. Als een BOOSuil zeg maar. Het kan natuurlijk gewoon zijn omdat geen enkele vogel graag gestoord wordt wanneer ‘ie probeert te slapen. En of het nu mensen zijn die hun hond uitlaten, fietsers, plantsoenendiensttypes of fotografen: elke beweging in de omgeving wordt gevolgd. Je vraagt je af waarom ze eigenlijk midden in de stad wonen. Het resultaat is in elk geval meestal een boze blik  😉 .
