Cape Verdian Shorelines

During a 22 hour stopover on the island of Sal (between our visits on San Antao and Sao Nicolau) we decided to go on an early morning stroll along the beach. It was interesting to see that, as soon as we had passed the tourist hotels, suddenly there were some birds along the shoreline. Mostly Sanderlings (Drieteenstrandlopers) and we found one Whimbrel (Regenwulp) as well. What did we see more ? Some sun bathing people, and a lonely fisherman.. And lots of sun, sand and sea! Dominique made a ‘making of’ picture, where you can see both me and the Sanderling in the picture 😉

  1. Hallo Hans,
