Last week I decided for an early rise in order to arrive at a nature reserve at dawn. Of course with the aim of using the first morning light for my shots. Upon arriving I encountered a Purple Heron, which for me was an immediate bonus, since I wasn’t expecting that 😉 . I spent some two hours in the area (which by the way I had totally for myself), and framed Reed Warblers, Bluethroats, Spoonbills and Savy’s Warblers. When the light got too harsh, I made my way home and opened the office in time. Nobody noticed a thing ….

Afgelopen week besloot ik maar weer eens vroeg op de staan om bij zonsopkomst in een bekend natuurgebiedje te zijn. Uiteraard om gebruik te kunnen maken van het eerste ochtendlicht. Bij aankomst trof ik al direct een Purperreiger, een leuke bonus want die had ik zo 1-2-3 verwacht. Ik ben circa twee uur gebleven (en had het gebied de hele tijd voor mijzelf!) en kon onder andere Kleine Karekieten, Blauwborsten, Lepelaars en Snorren fotograferen. Toen het licht te hard werd, ben ik weer huiswaarts gegaan waar ik gewoon op tijd het ‘kantoor’ kon openen. Niemand die het allemaal door had ….
