After some days of rain, today promised to be a day with clear skies. I decided to try my luck in the province of Flevoland, looking for Kingfishers. Since I do not know that area very well, the place I had in mind was in the shadows when I arrived. I could spend over 20 (!) minutes with this Kingfisher  – it arrived around the same time as I did. Light was not ideal and the bird “only” sat on the perch – no fishing today :-(. Still I should not complain, since I have never had a Kingfisher that was this close… Returning an hour or two later, the light was better and the bird showed up – however briefly. But: the images were well worth the drive and the wait !
