For some days a (very) rare Lesser Grey Shrike has been reported in the south-western part of the country. Today I was lucky enough having planned some appointments in that area. So hopefully I could spend a few minutes -while driving down there- at the Shrike.. Of course when leaving the house I had no clue if it was still around (some 90 minutes drive from here), but fortunately it was. It was very active catching insects – but since there were more birders around, it kept it’s distance. So the pics are not that much, be seeing this bird in Holland was a real treat !
