One of the more elusive species in the Netherlands is the Little Bittern. There’s only a few of them, and they tend to hide themselves pretty well deep down in the reeds. This time of year – when the reeds are still not too high – there’s however some places where you can see these beautiful little herons. Last week someone tipped me where I could find some, and after two visits I finally managed an in-flight shot 😉
