This week I took it easy: taking pictures while lying on the ground. The first was at the beach in Hoek van Holland, where I used the early morning light to frame some Oystercatchers. The wind was coming from the east, i.e. I was more or less sandblasted… By the way, the bird on the picture will not live long according to Menno, since it shows all signs of poor health 🙁 …. I also took some shots lying on my back!! While more or less crawling army style to the water’s edge for this Western Great Egret, it disappeared in the reeds. I used that moment for rolling over quickly even closer. When on my back however, it reappeared again – leaving me no time to finish my roll… So I had to take these shots in a rather awkward position 😉
