This time of year a lot is happening in the woods. Today I decided to take an early morning walk. First I checked upon the Great Spotted Woodpecker. The male was still busy with the hole. Sometimes it showed only it’s head, sometimes all but. While I was waiting, a female woodpecker inspected the tree and the entrance, but flew away – playing hard to get I guess. The images only include the male by the way. The Jays were impressing each other with their crests, making lost of noises. I also encountered some Blackcaps, flying back and forth wist nesting material. Somewhere in an obscured corner, a couple of them counted on a moment of privacy – alas. I was there with the big camera 😉
