New and Known

photocrati galleryOver the weekend not a lot has been happening. Although still suffering from some suddenly popped-up illness, on saturday I went with Menno to Castricum to see a rare visitor and first-timer for me: the Red-flanked Bluetail (Blauwstaart). Normally  somewhere in Siberia, one showed up here somehow. We found it all right, but due to the many birders, hikers, joggers and cyclists it did not show itself very well – so not much more than an evidence shot, alas… Yesterday after I shot a Treecreeper from the upstairs bedroom window, I paid a quick visit to the harbor, where many regulars were around (both birds and birders). I finally saw two Common Murres (Zeekoet), which was nice as well !
