Yesterday I made another attempt for the Lesser Grey Shrike, but alas – it had moved on. I had hoped for a better shot than last weekend. To make the trip at least a little worthwhile I made some shots of a Skylark (Veldleeuwerik) that I found. After a meeting in the eastern part of the Netherlands yesterday, I decided to drive back through what we call the ‘polders’. In nice and warm evening light I could frame some Black-tailed Godwits (Grutto) and Redshanks (Tureluur). Most in their classical ‘pole position’ – but it was fun. And that’s what counts !
