Most camera’s nowadays have the option of removing ‘red eyes’ from images – or it can be easily achieved in post processing. Of course we’re talking flash photography here. In the case of these fighting Coots (that I shot without flash), I deliberately let the eyes keep their color. The choice for a B&W image was made to prevent the busy background from getting more attention than the Coots. But the color of their eyes, I couldn’t do without it I guess 😉

De meeste camera’s hebben tegenwoordig een ‘rode-ogen-reductie’-functie – of je kan je foto’s achteraf corrigeren tijdens de nabewerking. Uiteraard hebben we het dan over flitsfotografie. In het geval van deze vechtende Meerkoeten (die ik uiteraard niet geflitst heb), heb ik bewust gekozen de ogen hun kleur te laten behouden. De keuze om het beeld in Zwartwit om te zetten was om de aandacht meer naar de Koeten te laten uitgaan. Maar de kleur van hun ogen, daar kon ik toch niet zonder 😉
