Ruddy Turnstones are quite reliable birds. Usually they show when and where you expect them: at the shoreline or around the harbour. This time of year, you may find them still in their breeding plumage, or at least mostly so. As they are not very shy, you can usually spend some nice shooting time with them. So that’s exactly what I did for a while….

Steenlopers zijn redelijk betrouwbare vogels. Meestal zijn ze daar waar je ze verwacht: aan de kustlijn of rond de haven. In deze tijd van het jaar kun je ook nog tegenkomen in zomerkleed, of in elk geval grotendeels. Aangezien ze niet zo schuw zijn, kun je je er meestal wel een tijdje fotograferend mee vermaken. En dat is precies wat ik dus maar deed….
