Last weekend I went with a group of friends on a trip to the island of Texel. Texel is one of the Dutch islands in the North and is known for a variety of sea- and aquatic birds. We visited several places on the island and have seen many species, some were new to us ! The Spoonbill is one of the birds we wanted to see of course, and on the first day we found one that could be approached pretty well, giving us plenty of opportunities for nice pictures. All in all a very pleasant weekend: sunny weather, lots of birds, food & drinks and (most important) great friends – who could ask for more ?
