Although Utah seems to be a state of hot deserts and big salt plains, there’s also the mountains and plenty of waters around. This results in a wide variety of species that one can encounter. Colorful species, waterfowl, raptors and immigrants – they are all there. Even if the water situation was very bad this year in Bear River Bird Refuge, there was still plenty to see for a tourist like me. Most shots are made from the care window, one of the exceptions are the Hummingbirds, that can be approached relatively easy…. even for a dutch guy with a big lens…
