Young, younger, youngest

photocrati galleryThis time of year there’s chicks everywhere. Some already grown up and on their own, others still in the nest or close to it. In this series I first selected the House Sparrow (of which I am actually not sure if it’s really a juvenile, but it surely behaves like one 😉 ). The Green Woodpecker is almost the size of an adult, but from the plumage you can tell it’s still a juvenile. The little Redstart was flying around with one of the parents, while the little Robin seemed lost and was on the ground. Not being able to fly, it must have somehow walked out of the nest … All shots were taken this week in the dunes near Wassenaar.
